Heldenplatz, Vienna

The "Heldenplatz" is located in Front of the Hofburg and was planned by Emperor Franz Joseph as a part of the so called "Kaiserforum", but it was never finished. The two large Statues show Prince Eugen and Erzherzog Karl and were built by Anton Fernkorn.

The place became known in a bad manner through the Annexation of Austria in 1938.
